This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it to provide insurance quotes, your rights under POPIA, and how to reach us or the Information Regulator.
1. Information we collect
- Details you provide in forms (name, contact information, quote preferences, dependants).
- Technical/usage data such as cookies, device identifiers, session analytics, and campaign parameters.
- Communications you send to us, including support requests and preference updates.
2. How and why we use it
We rely on consent or your service request to process personal information. We use it to provide comparisons, generate quotes, hand off to insurers/call centres, communicate about your quote or account, improve site performance, measure campaign effectiveness, and comply with legal obligations.
Direct marketing is only sent when you give explicit opt-in consent, and you can opt out at any time.
3. Sharing your information
We share personal information with licensed insurers and their appointed call centres to generate quotes and complete follow-ups. We also use operators such as Supabase (EU), Vercel, analytics platforms, and advertising networks to run the service. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cross-border transfers
FoxyQuotes may store or process personal information outside South Africa (for example, in the EU). We implement safeguards consistent with POPIA for cross-border transfers.
5. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logs to protect personal information. No security measure is perfect, but we continually review and update our controls.
6. Your rights
